Have you ever had a requested change approved, and then:
- never implemented
- implemented incorrectly
- implemented correctly but not achieved the outcome expected
Because of this we need a process were we verify that the approved change request has been implemented as approved.
Thought process to get this question right on the PMP® Exam
To get this question right on the PMP® Exam or the CAPM® Exam we really need to understand change control.
We are looking for a process where we verify that the approved change request has been implemented as approved.
I would eliminate Answer A. Validate scope is a process in which the customer, or their representative, inspects the deliverables to decide if they are going to accept them. Not the best answer for this question.
I would eliminate Answer B. Perform integrated change control is a process in which change requests are either approved or rejected. This process does not address implemented changes. Not the best answer for this question.
I would eliminate Answer C. Manage quality is a process in which we ensure the organization's quality policy is being followed. Manage quality has a huge focus on processes and process improvement. Not the best answer for this question.
Answer D is the best answer. In the process control quality we want to inspect the deliverables to verify they have been built correctly. We also want to review all approved change requests to verify they have been implemented correctly.
